All services

Raccoon removal

One-way door on the entry hole, heavy-gauge screening on vents and roof edges, and a check for kits before anything is sealed.

Squirrel removal

Find the chewed gaps, install a one-way door, and seal the roof line so squirrels can't chew back in.

Bat exclusion

Seal the house, fit one-way valves at the exits, and do it only outside the pup season.

Attic clean-up and prevention

Remove contaminated insulation and droppings, sanitize, and re-insulate once the house is sealed.

Wildlife in Ottawa's older houses

The century homes and post-war houses in Ottawa's core have a lot of ways in: soffits that have softened, gaps where an addition meets the old roof, roof vents with no screen, chimneys without a cap. Mature trees put squirrels and raccoons right at roof level.

The legal side matters. Under Ontario's Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, a raccoon or squirrel captured on your property has to be released within 1 kilometre of where it was caught, within 24 hours. Driving it out to the country is not allowed, and it rarely works anyway. Bats have extra protection: the little brown bat is listed as endangered in Ontario.

So the job is exclusion. We find every entry point, fit a one-way door on the active one so the animal leaves on its own, seal everything else, and come back to remove the door and close the last hole. Then we deal with what they left in the attic.
